In November, 2002, my daughter Elizabeth died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. She was at daycare. She was sleeping on an adult bed, surrounded in pillows and blankets. Following her death, I became very involved with the Iowa SIDS Foundation. I have done community and professional education, fundraising, and served as president of their board for 6 years. I have always been very passionate about promoting safe sleep. Because there is no cause or prevention for SIDS, all we know is how to reduce risks. The #1 way to reduce that risk is to provide a safe sleeping environment.Recently, i have decided to join forces with Genesis Medical Center and start a "sleep sack project". It is my hope that, with the funds raised for this project, each baby born at Genesis can leave the hospital with a sleep sack for their baby. Sleep sacks promote safe sleeping by getting extra blankets out of the crib.I have chosen the Sleep Sack Project at Genesis Medical Center as my Charity of Choice.Every dollar helps and I appreciate your generosity and support.Jenny
